News - Armenia official: We have quite good progress in aviation

We have quite good progress in the aviation sector. As of eleven months, 5 million 44 thousand people have come to or gone from Armenia. Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, stated this at a press conference Friday. "Among that number, 34 percent were transported by Armenian airlines, which is an exceptional indicator. Last year, that figure was 24 [percent]," added Sanosyan. The minister noted that Armenia finally has a licensed taxi service company, which operates with 25 new electric cars, at Zvartnots International Airport of Yerevan. As for the railway sector of Armenia, Sanosyan said that during the eleven months of 2023, the respective passenger transportation increased by 7 percent, while freight transportation decreased by 18.5 percent, which is linked to the transportation of minerals from Sotk.
