We are so close to a peace agreement with Armenia, said Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) of Azerbaijan, during a press conference on the activities of AIR Center for 2023, APA reports. The Azerbaijani political scientist noted, however, that it is very difficult to tell the exact date for the signing of this peace agreement. “But the main controversial issues have been reduced to zero. [Border] demarcation and delimitation is a long process. I consider that this will not be included in the document. For example, we [i.e. Azerbaijan] haven’t resolved this with Georgia for many years. The peace agreement is agreeing on basic principles. At present, Armenia should be interested in the peace agreement more; this will bring stability to the region,” Shafiyev said.
