The ruler of Armenia has admitted that he sacrificed Nagorno-Karabakh consciously. The third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, told this to reporters Thursday after his court session—and referring to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks on the settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue. "To be honest, I saw many lies and fabrications in that speech. But I must clearly emphasize an important fact that the ruler of Armenia admitted that he sacrificed Nagorno-Karabakh consciously. When he talked about some bludgeons; that is, for him, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was a bludgeon on Armenia's head, I just didn't understand what bludgeons he was talking about, or who had put those bludgeons on Armenia's head. (…). He is right that he consciously sacrificed Artsakh," emphasized the third president of Armenia. Commenting on PM Pashinyan's statement that Nagorno-Karabakh issue was not supposed to be settled with any package and that after 2016 the issue of dissolving statehood was already put, Sargsyan denied. "He is lying, he is not clairvoyant to make assumptions about the future. We have clearly said that we have all the documents. Let him show a document where what he said is included, and let him say that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is closed with this. There are documents according to which the final status of Nagorno-Karabakh is determined by free expression of will. What we say, we make a case with documents," said the third president of Armenia And to the question of whether it is true that the UN document had provided for the zeroing of the intermediate status of Artsakh, Serzh Sargsyan again denied. "No, I assure nothing significant has changed in the negotiations after [the talks in] Kazan [in Russia]. Regardless of how the wording was, the final status of Nagorno-Karabakh was being determined by free expression of will. Changes were being made, but they were not changing anything essential, Nagorno-Karabakh was to have the opportunity to manage life in Nagorno-Karabakh with its elected bodies," stressed the third president of Armenia.
