Speaking to reporters after his court session Thursday, the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, commented on PM Nikol Pashinyan's statement that Armenia had directed the "lion's share" of its resources to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). "He [i.e. Pashinyan] said that he directed the lion's share of the resources there [to Artsakh], which is a lie. Which resources are we talking about? The budget of Nagorno-Karabakh was being formed both from the collection of their internal taxes and from the loan being given from Armenia, which was a small part of our budget, a minor part. I do not rule out that there were additional expenses, there was acquisition of weapons, etc., but it cannot be the lion's share. We had to invest our resources in order to resolve our national issue. Who was going to give [them] to us just like that?" said Armenia's third president. And commenting on the demands of the Azerbaijani party that the peace treaty with Armenia should note the non-revenge by the Armenian party, and to the question of how the Artsakh issue will be resolved in that case, Serzh Sargsyan said: "That so-called ‘revenge’ is used a lot in our society, I am confused. Revenge is to achieve new success; that is, it was a revenge for Azerbaijanis. They can, but not us? Is it worth living when you have no right to anything, others have all the rights?”
