The peace treaty with Armenia should be separated from the border delimitation issue. Azerbaijani foreign minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated this in a press briefing, as he reported on the results of the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in 2023, reports APA. "During all the meetings between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the issue of returning eight villages [to Azerbaijan] is raised. We consider that this is related to [border] delimitation and as it’s known, the delimitation process is technical issue. The general principles are reflected in the peace treaty," Bayramov said. The Azerbaijani FM noted that even the delimitation process between countries without a serious territorial conflict can take a long time. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, however, on Wednesday had stressed that the peace treaty should note the border delimitation process, which will make this process predictable. Translated from diplomatic language, what Bayramov said means that Azerbaijan demands that all further territorial claims against Armenia be recognized as legal. As reported earlier, the parliament of Azerbaijan had adopted a document on territorial claims against Armenia.
