The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that its deputies were called in to remove a 12-foot (approx. 3.6 meters), 600-pound (approx. 272 kilograms) alligator at Coconut Point Mall in Estero, Florida. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the state's longest alligator is a 14-foot, 3-1/2-inch (approx. 4.3 meters) alligator that lives in Lake Washington, the largest lake in Brevard County. Meanwhile, the record weight for a male alligator is 1,043 pounds (approx. 473 kilograms).
