News - Economy minister: We will exclude long-term driving in Armenia of cars that don’t have EAEU countries’ license plates

New norms will be introduced after the completion of the assistance program for customs clearance of temporarily imported passenger cars in Armenia, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan told reporters Wednesday. He noted that these norms should exclude long-term driving in Armenia of cars with license plates of countries that are not EAEU members. "If there is a law, it must be observed," the economy minister said. Citizens of Armenia and other EAEU countries, who have imported cars to Armenia for temporary use, can carry out the respective customs clearance with a 40 percent discount for cars up to five years old, until December 30. That cost will be reimbursed by the Armenian government. For cars over five years old, the discount will be 70 percent. According to the latest data of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, 1,700 temporarily imported cars have undergone customs clearance so far.
