The Ministerial Meeting of Landlocked Developing Countries has started Thursday in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Armenia's hosting of an event of such significance will greatly contribute to raising the country's standing in the international arena, particularly in the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries. The latter, in turn, is important in the context of the group's presidential elections expected in December 2024. Hosting this international meeting also creates serious prerequisites for promoting interconnection in international organizations and increasing Armenia's visibility in the transport infrastructure development agenda. Also, this regional meeting is a good opportunity to present Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace concept to the international community, and promote the approaches of the Armenian side to unblock the transport infrastructures in the South Caucasus based on the sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality, and jurisdiction of the countries.
