The exchange of prisoners of war announced five days ago will take place today on the Kazakh (Azerbaijan)-Ijevan (Armenia) sector of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Turan news agency of Azerbaijan reports citing informed sources. Accordingly, Azerbaijan is expected to release 32 Armenian captives, and Armenia—two Azerbaijani servicemen. The aforesaid Armenians were captured in December 2020 in the Hadrut region Nagorno-Karabakh, and in the period that followed—in various parts of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and in Karabakh itself. On December 7, the office of the prime minister of Armenia and the administration of the president of Azerbaijan made a joint statement in which they informed that Azerbaijan will release 32 Armenian captives, and Armenia—two Azerbaijani servicemen.
