Armenia government to earmark $65M to extend nuclear plant’s operation period

The Armenian nuclear power plant will sign a contract with Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation of Russia, to extend the operation period of the second power unit of this plant. The respective draft decision is put on the agenda of Thursday’s Cabinet session of the Armenian government. The aforesaid draft decision proposes to allow the Armenian nuclear power plant to sign a contract with Rosatom in the form of one-person purchase to carry out the relevant work. The draft decision adds that the value of this contract cannot exceed 65 million US dollars.
