Armenia parliament speaker: We are awaiting captives’ return from Azerbaijan

by Lilit Dec. 12, 2023

We are waiting; I believe we will have information soon. Alen Simonyan, speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, stated this in a briefing with reporters in the NA Tuesday—and regarding the returning of Armenian captives from Azerbaijan. "The agreement that was reached, there is no news related to it, there is no change, the process is in progress," said Simonyan. Last week, the office of the prime minister of Armenia and the administration of the president of Azerbaijan made a joint statement in which they informed that Azerbaijan will release 32 Armenian captives, and Armenia—two Azerbaijani servicemen.
