At its Cabinet session Thursday, the government decided to put Indonesia on the list of countries whose citizens have the right to be issued an entry visa to Armenia at the latter’s state border. An agreement has been reached between Armenia and Indonesia, based on the principle of reciprocity, to enable the nationals of both countries to obtain entry visas upon arrival at the state border checkpoints of these countries. Currently, Indonesian citizens can obtain an entry visa to Armenia only at Armenian embassies and consulates, as well as through the E-VISA system. Also, Indonesian nationals who have temporary or permanent residence status in or valid entry visa to the United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada, Russia, Japan, EU countries, Schengen Agreement countries, and Gulf Cooperation Council countries can obtain an entry visa to Armenia at the crossing points of the state border of the country. In addition, the draft proposes to remove Panama from the list of countries whose citizens can be issued an entry visa to Armenia at the checkpoints of the country’s state border because, on the basis of the principle of reciprocity, a visa-free regime has been established since September 8 for the Panamanian nationals.
