A major road accident took place in Yerevan Wednesday, shamshyan.com reports. At around 1am, a Maserati with diplomatic license plates and a Toyota collided on a street. Three people were hospitalized. The driver of the Maserati—Yerevan resident Levon Hayrapetyan, 28—is the honorary consul of Iceland to Armenia. After the accident, he tried to leave the scene, but the police patrol officers quickly found him. And when they tried to check his sobriety, he refused to take a sobriety test, saying that he felt ill, and then went to a hospital. The police tried to check his sobriety in the hospital, too, but he still refused. Subsequently, the investigator had to instruct the doctors to take his blood sample.
