News - Armenia dairy products to be exported to Russia again, joint supervision to be carried out

Armen Hayrapetyan, Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia, and Sergey Dankvert, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) of Russia, met Tuesday in Moscow. The negotiations took place over the problems that have arisen in the last few days in the process of importing phytosanitary inspection cargo exported from Armenia to Russia, the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Hayrapetyan noted that all multifaceted supervision measures are being implemented consistently to prevent the delivery of any cargo with violations to Russia. He guaranteed greater transparency and reliability of phytosanitary certification of Armenia’s exported products to ensure traceability and safety of supplied products. Dankvert, for his part, assured that the Rosselkhoznadzor takes the same approach when monitoring any plant products entering Russia, and takes proper measures for each detected violation—regardless of the sending country. During the meeting, the matter of resuming the supply of products of the enterprises producing dairy products in Armenia to Russia was also discussed. In this connection, an agreement was reached on joint supervision measures, whose exact timeframes will be specified in the working order. In addition, the two parties agreed to improve communication between their aforesaid agencies in order to resolve the emerging problems at the expert level as quickly as possible.
