Ambassador: India will continue cooperation with Armenia in defense sector

by Lilit Dec. 5, 2023

India will continue cooperation with Armenia in the defense sector. Ambassador of India to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha—who attended and delivered an address at the at the forum, on the topic of "New Regional Realities and The ‘Crossroads of Peace,’" which was held Tuesday in Armenia’s capital of Yerevan, with the participation of analysts from Armenian, Iranian, Indian, Georgian, and Turkish think tanks—told this to reporters Tuesday. When India collaborates with any country in the defense sector, it is not only technical cooperation, but also capacity development. Thus, India will continue that collaboration, said the Indian diplomat. She noted that the "Crossroads of Peace" initiated by Armenia is a good project, and expressed hope that it will bring peace to the region. Cooperation has a key role in promoting economic development and prosperity; and India supports all initiatives aimed at increasing cooperation. India believes that if the ties between the neighbors are strengthened and successful, it contributes to making people's lives easier, and as a result, it leads to economic development and well-being, and therefore the project "Crossroads of Peace" can only be welcomed. Peace in the world has no alternative, and therefore everyone should all have the ability to talk to each other and unite people with such regional cooperation projects. Distance does not enable people to get a proper idea of each other. But when they meet face to face, that distance disappears. The "Crossroads of Peace" is a good initiative from that point of view, and India hopes that it will bring peace to the region, said the ambassador of India to Armenia.
