Armenia parliamentary debates on HayaKve bill to continue after 2 months

by Lilit Dec. 4, 2023

The National Assembly (NA) review and discussions of the bill submitted by the HayaKve public and political initiative of Armenia have been put off for two months. The proposal in this regard was voiced, during Monday’s respective meeting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, by main speaker Artsvik Minasyan, secretary of the opposition Armenia Faction of the NA. As reported earlier, the law amendments proposed by the HayaKve initiative call for criminalization of recognizing—on behalf of Armenia—Nagorno-Karabakh as part of another country, as well as refusing international recognition of the Armenian Genocide or belittling its danger.
