Lavrov: ‘Tango’ is needed for Ukraine settlement but the West is ‘breakdancing’

by Lilit Dec. 1, 2023

The political solution to the Ukrainian crisis requires the efforts of both sides, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, RIA Novosti reports. At the press conference following the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Russian FM responded to the question about the possibility of settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. Lavrov noted that Russia has so far not seen any signals from Kyiv and "its masters” on readiness to enter the political process. "Two are needed to start a political process, just like in tango. But the 'boys' on the other side are not dancing 'tango,' but 'breakdancing;' you have to be a soloist there," the Russian FM said sarcastically.
