Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday met with Josep Borrell, the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in the North Macedonian capital of Skopje, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. They discussed matters of expansion of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. Mirzoyan and Borrell thoroughly conferred about the existing prospects in that regard, as well as the efforts being made in favor of Armenia-EU rapprochement and ensuring tangible results for the citizens. The interlocutors reflected also on the effective discussions held recently in Yerevan and Brussels with the participation of representatives of the EU and EU member states, and recorded the readiness of the parties to implement the ambitious Armenia-EU agenda, and the steps being taken in that regard. As a continuation of the meeting held in Granada, Spain in October, the Armenian FM and the EU foreign policy chief discussed security issues in the South Caucasus. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts aimed at the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia and curbing any aspirations towards territorial integrity, implementation of regional inclusive programs and establishment of lasting stability. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Armenian government. In addition, Ararat Mirzoyan and Josep Borrell touched upon the measures being taken to address the needs and rights of more than 100,000 displaced Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh—and including with the steady engagement of Armenia’s international partners.
