Celik: U.S. demanded from Turkey as a condition of the F-16 deal, to refuse support to Azerbaijan

by Lilit Nov. 27, 2023

Turkey wants the ongoing discussions between Azerbaijan and Armenia to lead to a peace agreement. Spokesman for Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Omer Celik said this at a press conference, APA reports. He noted that "if Armenia refuses from destructive steps, the 3+3 cooperation format will make a great contribution to peace in the region". Celik also said that "the U.S. demanded that Turkey stop supporting Azerbaijan in order to liberate Karabakh." He noted that Washington made this demand in the above-mentioned period as a condition for sending F-16s to Turkey.
