5 climbers killed, 9 missing due to avalanche in Iran

A group of climbers was caught in an avalanche at the foot of Mount Oshtorān Kūh in the Zagros Mountains in the Iranian province of Lorestan, some of them were killed, Mehr reports. The tragedy occurred on Thursday. According to a local medical official from the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, 9 climbers were missing and the bodies of five of them were discovered later. Three people were saved. They were hospitalized.
