Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets of London to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, PA Media reports. Protesters in London are marching from Park Lane to Whitehall, while the Metropolitan Police are also handing out leaflets to provide "absolute clarity" on what will be considered an offense. As the demonstration got underway, police said one protester had been detained on suspicion of inciting racial hatred. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators held a series of homemade placards and banners, some of which refer to the slogan "from the river to the sea". One banner shows a picture of Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer under the word "Genocide," while another has a picture of G7 leaders above the phrase "War Criminals on the Run." The latest major demonstration in the British capital came after Egyptian officials confirmed that the Palestinian group Hamas would later release 14 more hostages in exchange for 42 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
