It seems that Azerbaijan is not interested in the Crossroads of Peace because it is implementing the project with Iran, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a televised live press conference. "We have also published the principles of the Crossroads of Peace project, one of which is that each country, through its state institutions, implements border and customs control and ensures security in its territory. The first reaction of Azerbaijan is that they are no longer interested in that project, because they carry out communications with Iran. We don't mind at all, but that's our suggestion,” he said. Moreover, according to him, there is another point that simplification of procedures can take place on the basis of reciprocity. “They should be for all countries participating in the project. We have quite a bit of flexibility here,” he added. Speaking about customs and border control at Zvartnots International Airports done by Russian border guards, Pashinyan said: "Zvartnots is a different case, it has a background. Our policy is that the level of Armenia's sovereignty should increase institutionally."
