Toyota recalling more than half million cars due to faulty brakes

by Lilit Nov. 23, 2023

Toyota Motor will send for repair half a million of its vehicles with faulty brakes. The largest Japanese automaker has decided to hold a maintenance campaign that will affect about 580 thousand of its cars, writes the Japanese NHK portal. A dangerous manufacturing defect which can lead to brake failure and, as a result, a traffic accident, was detected on these vehicles, reports Motor.ru. The models and years of manufacture of these cars with problematic pedal screw have not yet been made public. It is known, however, that for now it is only about the cars sold in the domestic market. Over the past six months, Toyota has issued numerous recalls due to serious problems. For example, in July, the 2023 model year Tundra and Sequoia pickups, whose spare tire could “fly,” were affected by such a campaign. In the same month, more than 100,000 Toyotas and Lexuses were sent for inspection worldwide because they had poorly welded cables.
