President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko on Monday met with CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov. Lukashenko positively assessed the fact that it was possible to find a solution to the conflict between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in southern Central Asia. According to him, the confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan has also ended. "We have to think about the future, how to organize the life of two countries there," the Belarusian president emphasized. "I emphasize once again: in the sphere of responsibility of the CSTO, as both Armenia and Kyrgyzstan are members of the CSTO," Lukashenko said. Imangali Tasmagambetov, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the head of Belarus for the opportunity to discuss the current activities within the CSTO and the problematic issues of this organization's activities on the threshold of important events. "As for the implementation of the action plan for the implementation of the decisions of the [CSTO] Collective Security Council held in November of last year and the priority areas of Belarus, 32 of the 34 actions have been completed. Unfortunately, we were unable to perform two operations. First of all, they are our international contacts with European international organizations, such as the OSCE, conditioned by their positions, and the second issue is the mandate of the Collective Security Council to finalize the decision to provide assistance to Armenia. Although all other allies supported this decision, the Armenian side did not show any interest in this document and, moreover, in the final part of our work, they asked to remove it from the agenda altogether," said the CSTO Secretary General.
