An Armenian film has won an award at the world's most prestigious documentary film festival. Artistic director of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival of Armenia, Karen Avetisyan, wrote about this on Facebook. "At IDFA, the world's most prestigious documentary film festival, an Armenian film won the FIPRESCI award, which is given by the prestigious professional global association of film critics and film press, with roughly the following wording: ‘The film reveals the voice of a generation that is in solidarity with the video camera even at its most intimate and vulnerable moments, organically shifting from a first-person perspective to a silent observation of family resonance. We are delighted with the autonomy of Shoghakat Vardanyan's debut film 1489 and the urgent effort to take on a powerful experience,’" Avetisyan wrote, in particular.
