Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan on Wednesday received Lee Do-hoon, the newly appointed Ambassador of South Korea to Armenia—whose respective diplomatic residence in Moscow, on the occasion of presenting a copy of his credentials. The deputy FM of Armenia congratulated the newly-appointed ambassador on the occasion of his appointment, and wished him success during his tenure, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The sides commended the active cooperation established on bilateral and multilateral platforms, as well as mutual willingness to develop and deepen political dialogue, diplomatic and economic ties. An agreement was reached to intensify political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries. During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the bilateral partnership in various formats, legal framework, discussed the joint work in culture, health care and information technology, and the possibility of implementing programs towards the exchange of expertise in public administration. Also, the deputy FM of Armenia thoroughly presented the situation in the country’s region, in particular, the humanitarian situation resulting from the forced displacement of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and the military attack by Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia's efforts to establish lasting peace in the region, and presenting to his interlocutor the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative of the Armenian government. Ambassador Lee thanked for the warm reception, and assured that he will spare no effort to further develop Armenian-South Korean interaction.
