Borrell: US support for Ukraine most likely to decrease

by Lilit Nov. 12, 2023

US support for Ukraine is likely to wane and the EU must show political readiness to continue sending aid no matter what, Josep Borrell, Chief of EU Diplomacy, said at the Party of European Socialists' congress in Malaga. According to Borrell, the EU has the necessary means to continue supporting Ukraine, but it should be prepared for the possibility that the US might not sustain its contribution at the current level. Borrell also stated that “the prospect of victory [of Ukraine] over Russia is not immediate.”
