6.4 magnitude earthquake hits northwestern Afghanistan

An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck northwestern Afghanistan on Sunday, GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences reports.According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the tremors lay at a depth of 10 km at coordinates of 34.76 degrees north latitude and 62.16 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reports.
