Israeli fighter jets eliminated a Hamas commander linked to recent attacks in a strike on a militant operations center used by the militants over the past day, CNN reports, citing Israel Defense Forces (IDF). “During the strike IDF fighter jets killed Merad Abu Merad, who was the head of the Hamas Aerial System in Gaza City and was largely responsible for directing terrorists during the massacre on Saturday,” IDF said. The Israel Defense Forces reported that its fighter jets carried out extensive airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Friday, targeting numerous Hamas sites and individuals from the "Nukhba" group, a key faction responsible for breaching the border and leading the incursion into Israel the previous Saturday. The Ministry stated Saturday that areas struck included the Al Nuseirat refugee camp, Northern Gaza regions, Al Shanti in Western Gaza, as well as the western coast and west of Khan Younis.
