News - Armenia’s capital Yerevan celebrates 2805 years

Erebuni-Yerevan is 2805 years old. On this occasion, the Erebuni administrative district made a post on its Facebook page, presenting a historical overview of the city. “For the first time, the anniversary of the founding of our capital - the 2750th anniversary - was celebrated in 1968, in October. Among the significant events of those days was the opening of the Museum of the Foundation of Yerevan at the foot of the Arin Berd hill and the giving of the name “Erebuni” to the street adjacent to the museum. Almost always during these days the whole city, especially Erebuni Street, was full of people. The big holiday brought together not only local residents, but also Armenians from all over the world. And we really hope that we will have many more opportunities to celebrate the anniversary of the capital of our heart with a big holiday,” the post reads.
