The Sotk gold mine continues to operate partially. Governor Karen Sargsyan of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province told about this to reporters outside the Yerevan city hall Friday. He noted that it is about the closed-pit section of the aforesaid mine. Sargsyan added that about 5,000 Armenians who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have been provided with accommodation in Gegharkunik Province. "There has never been a case where they applied to the provincial administration, community administrations, and we did not accommodate [them]. As of now, we have about 5,000 forcibly displaced people who have settled in our province. We resolve all their issues which are evaluated and transferred to us," said the governor of Gegharkunik.
