News - Mirzoyan, Klaar discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan relations’ normalization process

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on Thursday received Toivo Klaar, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Matters related to the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan were discussed at the meeting. Mirzoyan emphasized the need to exclude any encroachment, use of force, and threat of force against Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the need to continue the negotiation process in line with the key messages of the statement adopted as a result of the quadrilateral meeting held on October 5 in Granada, Spain. Also, the interlocutors reflected on the forced displacement of more than 100 thousand Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, the situation as a result of actual Armenian ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan, as well as the need to address the rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and the existing humanitarian problems.
