Representatives of the organizations Friends of Armenia, Rasmussen Global International Organizations, European Council on Foreign Relations Expert Center held a meeting-discussion on October 11 with a group of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh who found refuge in a Goris hotel. As Armenpress reports, the expert group includes representatives of European, American diplomatic and military expert circles. In a question-and-answer format, they asked a group of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh about their living conditions and situation after the events of September 19, as well as about the prospects of returning home. The head of Rasmussen Global International Organizations, Fredrik Wesslau, noted that the purpose of the visit is to collect more specific information about the situation in Armenia, especially after September 19, in order to get an idea of what areas can be worked in Brussels and other capitals to obtain assistance for Armenia. “In this context, we want to hear what situation you are in now, what your needs are and what you expect from the group to meet your needs,” he said. In turn, Stefan Fule considered their visit a humanitarian gesture. Member of the French Parliament, head of the France-Armenia interparliamentary friendship group Anne-Laurence Petel assured that she would definitely convey to her colleagues all the issues that were raised. According to her, many of their French and European partners support Armenia and are trying to do everything possible to provide assistance. Then, in a question-and-answer format, an exchange of thoughts took place with forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh regarding the prospects of returning home, their current situation and expectations. The forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh present at the meeting said they consider coexistence with the Azerbaijanis impossible. Some of them, speaking about the necessary conditions for returning home, noted that for this they expect recognition of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh and the deployment of international peacekeeping forces.
