News - Armenia official, EU envoy discuss joint actions to assist forcibly displaced people from Karabakh

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan received the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos. During the meeting, they discussed the jointly planned activities to assist Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, and the results of already implemented social protection projects in Armenia involving the EU, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Presenting the work being carried out by his ministry towards meeting the primary needs of the aforesaid displaced persons, the minister noted that the Armenian government plans and implements various programs in order to overcome the current crisis. Reflecting on the sectoral work already carried out in Armenia with the participation of the EU, Mkrtchyan described the jointly invested efforts in this regard as positive and effective. Ambassador Maragos, for his part, emphasized the importance of their collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, and expressed his willingness to be actively engaged in the planned programs in social protection.
