Georgia enjoys quite a high prestige and can become a successful mediator between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said one of the leaders of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party, First Deputy Speaker of the country’s parliament, Gia Volski. As the vice-speaker of parliament noted, there must be peace in the South Caucasus. “The main thing is that these two countries and their leaders want to use Georgia’s resources in this direction. This resource is incomparably high, and its use will be successful if the problem is solved in this way. There must be peace in the South Caucasus, our families need peace,” Volski emphasized. Eaerlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili had said that Georgia has shown that it is capable of being an effective mediator in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and, if necessary, it is ready to re-engage in the process.
