This is not a new question. In the last 34 years, Iran has provided Azerbaijan with territory and a corridor for cooperation. This was stated by the official representative of the Iranian foreign ministry, Nasser Kanaani, answering the question about a corridor that will connect Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan through the territory of Iran, Tasnim informed. "The cooperation in this framework continues. But according to the new conditions of the region, there is a possibility of establishing a new cooperation in accordance with the new geography, and the Azerbaijani side has asked Iran for cooperation, and Tehran has welcomed it. “[Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad] Bazrpash’s trip [to Azerbaijan] and the [recent] opening of a new bridge are within the scope of the cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, as well as the communication corridor. We support cooperation in the matter of transit and regional corridors, but we emphasize that the corridors should be created while respecting the sovereignty of countries and in compliance with international law. Various topics were discussed," Kanaani noted.
