News - Palestine reports deaths as conflict escalates with Israel

Early in the morning, four Palestinians were killed, and numerous others sustained injuries, with some in critical condition, due to Israeli shelling in the Gaza Strip. The shelling followed an exchange of gunfire between Gaza factions and Israeli occupying forces, causing a halt in activity in the blockaded coastal territory, Palestinian agency WAFA reports. According to medical sources, two Palestinians were killed in shelling east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, and two more were killed in the northern part of the Strip. Palestinian media later reported the deaths of two more people: an employee of the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian journalist Mohammad Salhi.
