News - Yerevan never asked Moscow to supply diesel fuel or gasoline free of charge, clarifies ministry

Armenia never asked the Russian Federation to supply diesel fuel or gasoline free of charge. The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the RA informed about this in response to the inquiry of the state news agency Armenpress. “Yerevan never asked Moscow to supply diesel fuel or gasoline free of charge. According to the cooperation agreement in the field of supply of gas, petroleum products, and natural diamonds signed between the parties in 2013, the Russian Federation approves indicative quotas for the export of petroleum products for RA for each year. Those quotas for gasoline and diesel fuel were expired in 2023 in early October, and the Armenian side applied for an increase in quotas, which was partially satisfied, as a result of which RA importers got the opportunity to buy from Russia and import 15,000 tons of gasoline and 20,000 tons of diesel fuel,” read a statement by the ministry. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that in response to the request of the Armenian leadership, Russia has started supplying oil products to the republic.
