Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic on Friday. According to a press release by the ministry, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the situation created because of the months-long blockade of the Lachin corridor and the military aggression by Azerbaijan against the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19. Emphasizing that what happened in Nagorno-Karabakh was in fact an ethnic cleansing, about the danger of which Armenia had been warning for months, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the need to rule out the continued danger of using force in the region. The sides also referred to the provision of proper support to those forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and the work with international partners to that end. The RA Foreign Minister and the EU Commissioner exchanged ideas on the security situation in the region, as well as issues of the RA-EU partnership agenda.
