News - Flow of displaced persons from Karabakh to Armenia halts, majority settled in provinces

The number of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) to Armenia remains at 100,632, with no changes, as announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, during a press conference on October 6. Baghdasaryan noted that approximately 75 percent of the forcibly displaced people, which amounts to 75,472 individuals, have been settled in different provinces of Armenia. The breakdown of displaced persons in different marzes is as follows: 3,967 in Aragatsotn, 18,212 in Ararat, 8,044 in Armavir, 5,125 in Gegharkunik, 4,107 in Lori, 21,593 in Kotayk, 3,707 in Shirak, 5,444 in Syunik, 2,134 in Vayots Dzor, 3,139 in Tavush. The Armenian government has provided housing for the majority of displaced Artsakh citizens, and they have also received warm clothing, food, hygiene items, and medicine. Plans are underway for their placement in rented apartments. Additionally, a certain number of forcibly displaced Artsakh residents are set to receive 100,000 drams each, deposited into their card accounts by the state, with the process starting more intensively on Monday.
