Vahan Hakobyan, customs attaché under the Armenian embassy in Russia, informed about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am Friday. "At the moment, we do not have queues among the trucks going to Russia. There are quite a few queues at the Upper Lars checkpoint coming from Russia. They are mainly cargoes being exported to third countries, which have nothing to do with Armenian cargoes. Armenian trucks are serviced on a special procedure. For example, yesterday, a total of 600 trucks left Russia through the Lars checkpoint, 300 of which were Armenian trucks, as our trucks were serviced in a special procedure," Hakobyan said. As for the Armenian trucks loaded with Armenian brandy, he noted that at the moment there are 47 such Armenian trucks at Upper Lars, and they are waiting for the test results. "They promised that the results will come in a week," said Hakobyan, adding that the respective strict inspection was lifted Wednesday evening. Thus, in general, Armenian brandy will no longer be sent from the Upper Lars checkpoint for testing, and this will be done only in rare cases when there are strong doubts and grounds. All will be routinely inspected as needed. Also, Vahan Hakobyan informed that last night there were trucks loaded with Armenian brandy, and they quickly crossed the Upper Lars checkpoint and entered Russia. A few days ago, it became known that about 60 trucks loaded with Armenian brandy going from Armenia to Russia were waiting for the end of inspection, as the Russian side was carrying out customs control over this brandy. The Russian customs service had started to inspect brandy imported from Armenia from March and April, explaining it by the fact that they found violations: fake brandy, etc. But a few days ago, that inspection was further increased by inspecting the brandy of not only specific business owners, but all brandy leaving Armenia.
