News - Russia to open consulate general in Armenia’s Syunik Province

Russia will open a consulate general in Syunik Province, informed the Russian embassy in Armenia. It is noted that a meeting was held in Meghri, Armenia between the head of the Russian foreign ministry priority group for the opening of the Russian consulate general in Kapan city, and the mayor of Meghri. They discussed the prospects of the early opening of the new Russian consular office in Syunik, which will considerably simplify the access to consular services for Russian citizens living in southern Armenia. In addition, it was noted that the new consulate general will contribute to the further strengthening of Russian-Armenian relations and the stabilization of the situation in the region, as well as the expansion of cultural, humanitarian, commercial, economic, and interregional cooperation.
