As of now, there are 5,257 forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh in Armenia’s Syunik province, the Governor of Syunik Robert Ghukasyan said at a press conference on Tuesday. More than 4,000 of them reside not in hotels, but in rented apartments or houses in different rural communities. "At the moment, the primary packages of food and hygiene items for 4,100 people have either already been distributed or are in progress in some communities. All other urgent problems are being inventoried, there are communities that have already finished them, and we are trying to solve the problems according to priority,” Robert Ghukasyan said. Along with that, he added, that they are also discussing various problems related to preparing them for the winter. “As of now, 328 students have already been admitted to different schools of the region, as well as pedagogical teams are being replenished, our compatriots are also applying to different medical centers, the applications of nine people are already in progress. Robert Ghukasyan also said that as of now, they study the necessary support programs for vulnerable groups. "We have dozens of families with many children; we are talking about families with seven or more children. They are in the center of special attention. As well as there are a number of other groups who are divided according to communities and are considered a priority," he added.
