News - Abrahamyan: Azerbaijan creates fake maps to use them when delimiting borders with Armenia

Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the parliamentary faction "I Have Honor," has stated that Azerbaijan is creating fake maps that it intends to use during the border delimitation process. Speaking in the National Assembly on October 5, he highlighted the expectation of a peace treaty being signed in recent days. Many believed that Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was the main obstacle to peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but Abrahamyan argued that various other problems were impeding such an agreement, primarily the issue of clarifying state borders. Armenia and Azerbaijan have different approaches to this matter. Abrahamyan accused Azerbaijan of developing fake maps and not accepting existing maps as the primary documents for negotiations. Instead, he claimed that Azerbaijan was proposing ‘principles’ that couldn't serve as a basis for negotiations.
