On October 3, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Hewittfield. During the call, Minister Mirzoyan briefed his Norwegian counterpart on the ongoing situation resulting from Azerbaijan's continuous aggressive policies and ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). He highlighted the international political and humanitarian aspects of the issue. The discussion also touched upon assessing the primary needs of the over 100,000 forcibly displaced population from Nagorno-Karabakh and the efforts of the Armenian government to address these needs. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the intentional and actual ethnic cleansing conducted by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh is a consequence of Azerbaijan's sense of impunity and the inappropriate and targeted actions of international actors. He stressed the importance of restraining Azerbaijan's extremist ambitions and efforts to destabilize the region. Additionally, the conversation covered topics related to the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Norway, as well as issues related to Armenia's interaction with the European Union.
