Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, though I cannot say whether a document will be signed or a statement adopted based on the results of the meeting in Granada. The chair of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Sargis Khandanyan, told journalists on Tuesday. "Armenia has always said and is saying about its readiness to sign a peace treaty. Azerbaijan takes a destructive position in this matter with its aggressive policy, military aggression, its stance in international platforms," he said. Khandanyan said that respect for Armenia's 29,800 square kilometer territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration is a red line for Armenia. He added that Armenia also wants to unblock communication channels, but within the framework of Armenia's sovereignty and jurisdiction, if it is about the roads and communication channels passing through its territory. "The issue of the return of Armenians held by Azerbaijan also remains in the center of our attention," he emphasized. The MP reminded that Armenia has never had any territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
