News - Alen Simonyan briefs Portugal parliament speaker on Azerbaijan’s gross violation of Karabakh Armenians’ rights

Speaker Alen Simonyan of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia on Friday met with President Augusto Santos Silva of the Assembly (parliament) of Portugal, in Dublin, the NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The sides underscored the positive dynamics of the activeness of the contacts between the two countries on multilateral platforms and the development of bilateral relations in recent times. The parties spoke about the situation in the region and the problems of gross violation of the rights of the Nagorno Karabakh Armenians. The Portuguese colleague noted that he is deeply aware of the situation and offered his condolences to the close relatives of the victims. He expressed willingness to show his support in alleviating the situation and finding solutions. At the end of the meeting, the speaker of the Armenian parliament invited his Portuguese colleague to Armenia.
