We see that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh remains not easy, to put it mildly, announced Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian foreign ministry. "First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the relatives and friends of those who died as a result of the explosion in [Nagorno-Karabakh capital] Stepanakert; we wish all the injured a speedy recovery," she said. "The Russian peacekeepers [in Nagorno-Karabakh] took the most active part in extinguishing the fire that broke out, providing emergency medical aid on the spot. The 120 injured in this tragic incident were transported to the territory of Armenia by helicopters of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. We will continue our activities in order to ensure the normal life of the population. The main stabilizing mechanism in the region remains the Russian peacekeeping contingent, which selflessly fulfills its duty," the Russian MFA spox added.
