Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez expressed his concern about the increasing number of Armenians fleeing their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh and the explosion that resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives. In a post on his X social media account, Minister Albarez emphasized the need to ensure the rights and safety of the affected population, as well as the delivery of humanitarian aid. He also stated that the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation is ready to provide assistance in this critical situation. “Alarmed by the growing number of Armenians fleeing their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh and the explosion that has caused hundreds dead. The rights and security of the population, as well as the delivery of humanitarian aid, must be guaranteed. Spain's aid of AECID will be present,” he wrote. In the wake of the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19, a somber exodus has continued for the second consecutive day, with countless residents compelled to leave their cherished homelands and embark on a journey to Armenia. The urgency of the situation leaves them with little time to collect their personal belongings, as they abandon their homes and property behind. As of 15:00 Wednesday, September 27, a total of 50,243 people who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have crossed the border into the Republic of Armenia.
