News - US official doesn’t directly answer why her country doesn’t impose sanctions on Azerbaijan for aggression on Karabakh

During her visit to Goris, Armenia today, Yuri Kim, US Department of State Acting Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, did not give a direct answer to Armenian News-NEWS.am's question as to why Washington does not impose sanctions on Azerbaijan for its military aggression against Nagorno Karabakh. The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter noted that during the last hearings in the Senate, Kim had said that the US will not tolerate any attack on the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, but a few days after her statement, Azerbaijan attacked and the people of Nagorno-Karabakh remained alone against  the military aggression of Azerbaijan's. And the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter asked Kim why the US does not impose sanctions on Azerbaijan because of this. In response, Yuri Kim said that the US position on this matter is very clear, and they will continue to do everything possible to take care of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, their immediate needs, and it is for this reason that she and Samantha Power, Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), are in Armenia right now.
